By default, MacOS does not provide tilling of Windows, it’s only MacOS Split Screen. Not like on Windows and Linux. MacOS only has 2 tillings (left and right) and you have to click the Maximize button. It was very uncomfortable. In this article, I will share how to Tile Windows for MacOS for free.
Download Rectangle Mac
There are many software for tiling windows on MacBook, but almost all of them are paid. For Reactangle, it is a free software. I have used it on MacOS Sonoma for the M2 chip. You can download the software by clicking the download button:
Step to make MacOS Split Screen and Tile Windows
After the download is complete, Please open download folder. There will be file with the .dmg extension. Double click on the .dmg file, then move the file to the Application folder like this:
Now, open the Rectangle application, there will be a verification and click “Open”
After that, the Authorize Rectangle page will appear to grant permission. Click “Open System Settings”
Then Accessibility will open and make “Rectangle” to active as in the following:
A pop-up “Welcome to rectangle” will open, then click “Recommended”.
Now, open the Rectangle application, then click Icon Settings, and check the list on “Launch on Login” and “Hide menu bar icon” as in the following:
