Virtual Box VT-x Disable Error

In this article I will share how to fix the error VT-x is disabled in the BIOS for all CPU modes (VERR_VMX_MSR_ALL_VMX_DISABLED).

This error occurs when I want to run the OS on a virtual box that I just installed on Pop OS Linux Distro on my computer.

This happens because the Virtualization Technology feature of the Intel Processor on my computer is not activated, so I can’t run a virtual OS using VBox.

The error that appears is like this:

VT-x is disabled in the BIOS for all CPU modes ThinkPad
Result Code:NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component:ConsoleWrap

How to fix this error

Btw, I am using a Lenovo ThinkPad T400 laptop. To fix this error, you must enter the BIOS of your laptop.

Use this step:

  • Reboot/restart yout PC
  • Enter into bios BIOS using F12

Enter key in bios for other laptop brands:
Acer F1, F2 or CTRL+ALT+ESC
ASUS F2
Dell F1, F2, F3, F12, Del, Fn+F1
Fujitsu F2
HP/Compaq F1, F10, ESC
Lenovo F2, Fn+F2
MSI Del
Samsung F2
Sony Vaio F1, F2, F3
Toshiba F2, ESC+F1 , F2+power

  • Now choose confi > CPU
  • Intel (R) Virtualization Technology > Enable
  • Intel (R) VT-d Feature > pilih Enable
  • Save it using F10
  • Done
