SEO Tips and Guide - One way to increase website traffic is to use SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques. By knowing how SEO works, search engines can easily get your website on the first page.

There are three types of SEO that I know of, namely On-Page, Off-Page and On-Site SEO. but what's the difference?

  • On-page SEO is a process for optimizing a page of your website.
  • Off-page SEO is a process to build backlinks to your website.
  • On-site SEO is a process for the overall optimization of your website.
 

 

Onpage SEO Guide

1. Have a Heading - H1

The title of the article with the target keyword in the H1 tags is important because it includes a significant ranking factor powerful.

The only way for Google crawlers to understand your website pages is through what contained in the HTML.

On WordPress and Blogger by default generally have page titles set to H1 tags. But, in blogger the term H1 is the major heading.  

However for some templates or custom websites (manual coding) it is necessary to pay attention.

 

 

2. Insert the Main Keyword in H1

 This is very important to do in SEO Tips Guide because it helps you get ranked on search engines. The position of the main keyword in H1 must be placed as front as possible, but that does not mean always the beginning of the title, because the title of an article will be flexible. 

The main keywords that are at the beginning or front of the title will get ranking potential faster.

Example:

Yes: Tesla Cars Dialer In Canada
No: The 5 best Dialer Tesla Cars In Canada
 

3. Have Heading 2 - H2

In Wordpress, the term H2 Is Subheading, but On Blogger the term H2 is Heading. 

Using header tags can help Google better understand the structure and topics you cover on your pages.

Tips: Enter long tail keywords / LSI keywords that have the potential to rank in H2 tags.

 

4. Insert the Main Keyword in the URL Permalink

The main keywords in the URL is one of ranking factors. This is one of the important ranking factors in On-page SEO optimization.

Examples: 
Main Keywords: Tesla Cars
 
Yes: https://www.yoursite.com/tesla-cars
No: https://www.yoursite.com/best-dialer-tesla-cars-in-canada

 

5 URL Permalink Length

Each article will have a URL Permalik and write this URL there are rules for SEO. At the time of writing this article, a short and neat URL structure was preferred by search engines, because: 

  1. Clarify the topic of your page
  2. Save time for search crawlers 
Examples: 
Main Keywords: Tesla Cars
 
Yes: https://www.yoursite.com/tesla-cars
No: https://www.yoursite.com/best-dialer-tesla-cars-in-canada

 

6. Have a Meta Description

Every article written either on WordPress or on a blogger, has a Description form, where the contents of this description will appear as an explanation of an article in search engines. Look at the following picture.

Like meta keywords, meta descriptions are not included in Google's ranking factor algorithm.

However, the meta description will affect the CTR, where CTR itself is a ranking factor.

The SEO Tips Guide is: Write your description clearly, persuasively, encourage people to click on your link

by making people curious. The optimal meta description is a maximum of 160 characters.

For example: These tips for finding cheap airline tickets can be used on ALL airlines. you MUST find out all the promos for FREE...

Using “...” at the end makes people curious to click and find out what the promo is free.

 

7. Must Be A Unique Content

Google continues to develop various algorithms including Google Panda to reduce duplicates content in their search results. This ensures that no identical content can be ranked as the same keyword several times.

If Google detects that there is the exact same content on several different websites, it will hard to rank on Google.

Likewise, avoid the exact same content on your own website to avoid duplication keyword issues.

 

8. Must Have a LSI Keywords

LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) keywords help your content to rank multiple keywords on one page.

You need to insert at least 1 time the LSI keyword on the page you want to rank in your content so that Google can understand and rank the keyword on your page.

By inserting various variations of LSI keywords in your content, in addition to being more relevant, you can also boost your traffic from these LSI keywords.

 

9. Must Optimize Keyword Density

To determine the Keyword Density in the article, we must know the TF*IDF algorithm.

TF (Term Frequency) is the number of a specific word that appears in the article divided by the total number of words in the article.

IDF (Inverse Document Frequency) is the number of specific words that appear in every article on the internet

10. Dont Make Content Duplicaton

Do not create 2 different articles with the same 1 topic so that the keywords of the 2 articles become the same and similar.

Google has said that they limit 1 keyword in ranking by the same website to a maximum of 2 positions, this will also cause Content Duplication.

Content Duplication is when you cover the same topic on different pages inin 1 website, causing your website to be stuck in its ranking.

 

11. Keyword Density

Keyword density refers to the number of repetitions of a keyword in one article.

I myself set a keyword density of 2-3%, the goal is to keep it natural for Google Panda.

Example of keyword density calculation:

Article: 500 words

Keyword density: 3% * 500 words = 15 times.

To make it easier, I like to count it 10-15 times from a single keyword per 500 word article.

Example Phrases: plane tickets

Example of single keyword: ticket, plane

So it should be noted that the repetition 10-15 times here is not for a phrase, but for a single keyword.

For example, the word "ticket" is a maximum of 10-15 times per 500 words and the word "airplane" is a maximum of 10-15 times per 500 words.

 

12. Internal Linking

Internal link building is one of the most widely used but also necessary SEO strategies noticed.

Internal linking is a link that leads from one page (Page A) to a relevant page (Page B) other.

Internal linking not only helps Google to understand your page better, it also helps readers to make it easier to "explore" and read other related topics.

Good internal linking is between Pillar & Supporting Content.

Pillar & Supporting Content, namely creating the main page and supporting pages that discuss on a product on our website.

The goal is to increase the relevance of a site so that it becomes an "authority" in its field for Google because we are the most complete and accurate site to discuss a particular product.14. Compress Image

Images that are not compressed will affect the page speed of your page loading. Especially at this time  website pagespeed becomes very important for Google Ranking Factor.

I myself usually use Tinypng.com to compress images.

Automatically compress images when uploaded to wordpress.

 

13. Add Structured Data

Adding structured data can help to enrich the information in your articles and help Google to better understand the topic you are discussing. Here's structured data that you can add:

  • Video embeds
  • Table of Contents (Daftar Isi)
  • Tables
  • Bulleted/Numbered lists
  • Schema
 

14. Image Alt Tags

Images not only help readers to better understand your content, they also help search engines like Google to understand your content.

But we need to help Google to be able to read the images used, namely by adding alt text in your images.

You can use LSI keywords in image alt text.

15. Mobile Responsive Website

A website with a mobile friendly design is one of the main factors that are important in SEO today.

In 2015, Google has confirmed this.

Why? Because a mobile friendly website improves the user experience and lowers the bounce rate.

In 2018 Google also updated its mobile first indexing.

 

16. Is AMP Required for Blogs Today?

AMP stands for Accelerated Mobile Pages. Launched by Google on October 7, 2015. Previously it was created by Google as a rival to Facebook Instant Articles and Apple News in order to pamper readers with fast loading.

However, over time, AMP has become less relevant and is no longer mandatory for bloggers to use.

This is because Google has also removed the "AMP Label" in Google Mobile Search Results as of July 20, 2021 and as of June 20, 2021, non-AMP websites can now also enter Google News.

Q: "So, if my website is currently using AMP, does it need to be removed?"

A: If the website is currently using AMP, then there is no need to remove the AMP.

17. Long content still ranks better than short content in our Case Study.

But that doesn't mean you need to force your content to be 1000 or even 2000 words if the discussion of the article only needs 500 words.

We can see the "ideal" content length of our target keywords by calculating the "average" content length of 10 websites that are already on page 1 of Google, then added 10-20%.

Because it is ranked by Google and is proven to be liked by Google.

If you are unsure about how many words to write, we ourselves will immediately take 500-1000 words and above.

 

18. Freshness Content

So, you have finished creating your website. Then, you continue to optimize to the maximum and immediately continue to focus on Offpage SEO optimization.

Not fast!

You may have heard of the Google Freshness Algorithm, Google wants to present the most informative and up-to-date content on their search engine according to certain keywords.

So don't be surprised if Google prefers to give better rankings for websites that actively post fresh content.

Having fresh and up-to-date content can increase your ranking on Google, but that doesn't mean you have to post articles every day.

For New Content

Posting one new article per month is sufficient. The goal is to let Google know that your website is still active by continuing to publish new content for your readers. Share content that

you have posted on your social media website (Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and so on).

You can automatically share content from your site to social media using IFTTT.com or the Jetpack plugin.

Avoid posting the same topic for new articles so that there is no "duplicate topic" for Google which ultimately makes it difficult for Google to determine which pages you want to rank for.

For existing content

For existing content, updating the content once a month is sufficient. You don't need a lot, at least adding one or two sentences or pictures is enough. This tells Google that your page has been updated with new content and deserves to rank in the SERPs.
